Dr. Steven Palter

Dr. Steven Palter, the founder and medical director of Gold Coast IVF, has dedicated his career to making the dreams of infertile couples come true. He has treated patients from all over the world, and his work is frequently featured in the press, including The New York Times, Newsday, The Daily News, and CBS News.

Dr. Palter received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Boston University in the Accelerated Six-Year Medical Honors Program where he won the Edelin Prize for Excellence in Ob Gyn.   He completed his Ob Gyn residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo where he was awarded the Chairman's Award for clinical and academic excellence and special recognition from the Association of Professors of Ob Gyn. He then completed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Yale University School of Medicine and achieved board certification. He remained on the Yale faculty for seven years and served in many leadership positions, including Clinic Chief of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Director of several programs including the Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship.

He has authored dozens of articles, research papers, and book chapters, and his ongoing clinical research and innovative techniques have garnered numerous awards from sources as diverse as the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), where he was elected to a leadership position on the Board of Trustees. Dr. Palter has been invited around the world to teach physicians his innovative techniques, and is a frequent lecturer at medical meetings and conferences. He is the recipient of numerous research grants, has mentored trainees from over a dozen nations, and has been invited to perform laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery in the US, South America, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

Dr. Palter has special interests in infertility, in vitro fertilization, advanced endoscopic surgery, endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS, recurrent miscarriage and the development of minimally invasive surgical methods and equipment. He is distinctive in having specialized training and expertise in both medical and surgical therapies and can offer patients unique options for treatment.

Dr. Palter left the full-time faculty at Yale to create his own center, based in Syosset, New York. His goal in establishing Gold Coast IVF is to continue to provide his specialized, cutting-edge treatments in a warm, compassionate environment.
